Overview — What is Ledger® Live Wallet?
Ledger® Live is the official application that lets you securely manage cryptocurrency with Ledger® hardware wallets. Available as Ledger® Live Desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux) and Ledger® Live App (iOS, Android), the software displays balances, allows sending/receiving, and handles firmware and app installations on your device.
Ledger® Live Download & installation
To set up, visit the official Ledger® site and download the Ledger® Live Desktop installer or install the Ledger® Live App from the App Store / Play Store. After installation, connect your Ledger® device and follow on-screen instructions. The device requires a PIN for access; keep your recovery phrase secure and offline.
Ledger® Live login explained
Ledger® Live does not use a password-based login for private keys — unlocking the physical Ledger® device with its PIN is the authentication step. The app pairs with the device to display account data; all signing operations occur on the hardware device itself.
Troubleshooting Ledger® login issues
If you encounter "Ledger® Login not working" or "Unable to login Ledger®", try these steps:
- Switch USB cable or port; prefer direct ports over hubs.
 - Restart Ledger® Live Desktop / App and your computer or phone.
 - Update Ledger® Live and device firmware via the desktop app.
 - For Bridge/driver issues (desktop), reinstall Ledger® Bridge or use the native Ledger® Live Desktop which bundles needed components.
 - For Bluetooth pairing problems on mobile, toggle Bluetooth and ensure app permissions are enabled.

Common errors: Can't verify Ledger® Wallet / Error Connecting Ledger® Account
Verification errors usually mean the device and app couldn't complete the handshake. Confirm the device screen shows expected prompts, retry the connection, and update both app and firmware. If messages persist, create a support ticket at the Ledger® Help Center (never include your recovery phrase in tickets).
Ledger® Account Recovery & 2FA reset
Recovery uses your recovery phrase (24 words for many devices). Restore a wallet only on trusted hardware. Ledger® cannot reset your recovery phrase or retrieve keys for you. Two-factor authentication (2FA) is separate — Ledger® does not centrally manage 2FA for external services; if you need a 2FA reset for an exchange, follow that service’s recovery process.
When to contact Ledger® Help Center
Use the Ledger® Help Center for unresolved connection, firmware or verification problems. Provide device model and non-sensitive logs if asked, but never send your recovery phrase or PIN.
Security reminders
- Never enter recovery words into a website or software other than your device’s official restore flow.
 - Only download Ledger® Live from official Ledger® channels.
 - Keep firmware up to date, and back up your recovery phrase offline in multiple secure locations.
